Competition Rules

All anglers must have a current fishing licence and adhere to state regulations.

All boats must comply with the boating regulations, especially those regarding safety equipment.

All entrants in this event must agree with the liability waiver and model release, including if you are entering an event on behalf of someone else, or as a legal guardian if the entrant is aged under 18 years.

Contestants may fish the Gippsland Lake system and Rivers (excluding Lake Tyers).

Entries are Bream only.

Each entrant may submit as many fish as they like over the weekend. Upsizing is available.

No submission of any undersized bream (under 28cm).

Each legal or oversize native fish angled must be photographed (as per photo rules) and released as soon as possible to the water. Entrants found keeping entered fish will be instantly disqualified.

Photo must be of a live fish. Photos showing signs of mutilation, damage, excessive blood or improper handling will be deemed unfit for entry.

Fish must be photographed on the brag mat supplied by the competition committee.

Photo must be taken square onto the fish and mat and without shadows.

The nose of the fish must be level with the stopper on the mat.

The dorsal fin must point to the top of the mat.
-
The brag mat must be on a flat surface with no creases.

The entire fish and the measuring edge of the mat must be visible in the photo with the length of the fish being clearly identified and legible.

Any digital manipulation of the photo will be deemed as cheating and will result in the angler being disqualified.

Entries are judged on length, measured to the fork of the tail. Measurements will be rounded down to the nearest millimetre. To take the lead the fish must be 1mm longer than the current leader. In the event of a tie, the entry received first will be deemed the winner so if you catch a fish get that photo in ASAP.

The Top 10 longest fish draws are based on the length and time fish are submitted.

The winner of any prize must be in attendance personally to collect their prize or a redraw will take place.

Category prizes - 1. Individuals - Senior (13 years and over), Junior (12 years and under), 2. Teams - two to four individual members - Senior or Junior. 3. Families - up to five individuals - two senior, three junior. Extra junior family members can be added. Family entrants are excluded from the Teams category prize

Persons participating in the Twin Rivers Bream Classic, who are a Junior (12 years and under), must be accompanied by an adult guardian at the major prize draw to be eligible for prizes..
22. No discussions will be entered into regarding the committee’s decisions, which will be final.

There will be no physical weigh-in stations. All fish are to be photographed on a brag mat (supplied by the Competition) and submitted through Track My Fish.
