Registration

Online registrations open on Sunday, 1st March and close on Thursday 16th July 2020 at midnight. If you register online your 'welcome packs' will be available for collection from Black Stump General Store in Johnsonville.

  • Bairnsdale Bait Shop in Bairnsdale, 10 am to 5 pm.

  • The Nicholson Hotel in Nicholson, 10 am to 7:30 pm.

  • The Black Stump General Store in Johnsonville, 10 am to 7:30 pm.

  • Hills Marine & Leisure in Paynesville, 8 am till 5 pm.

 

Saturday 18th July

  • The Black Stump  General Store in Johnsonville, 6 am to 9 am.

  • Hills Marine & Leisure in Paynesville, 8 am to 9 am.

Fishing Times

Friday 17th July from 7:30 pm till Sunday 19th July at 11:30 am.

 

Competition Rules

  1. Contestants may fish Gippsland Lakes and Rivers (but NOT Lake Tyers).

  2. All anglers must have a current fishing licence, and adhere to state regulations and bag limits.

  3. All boats must comply with the boating regulations especially those regarding safety equipment.

  4. Each team will consist of a maximum of four (4) members.

  5. Each team member will be permitted to weigh in one fish, per person, per day

  6. Upsizing is available in Catch and Release Categories only.

  7. Any person submitting an undersized fish will be disqualified from their team.

  8. The weigh-in of an eligible bream must be a minimum length of 28 cm.

  9. Caught and released fish must swim away. Final decision made by Fishcare.

  10. No carp, eels or stingrays may be weighed in.

  11. The winner of any prize must be in attendance personally to collect their prize or a redraw will take place.

  12. Persons participating who are under age must be accompanied by a parent at the Major Draw to be eligible for prizes.

  13. No discussions will be entered into regarding the committee's decisions, which will be final.

Fishing Category Rules

  1. Upsizing is available for all Catch & Release categories.

  2. Entrant must be equipped with suitable live fish holding tanks. (An esky size container with adequate water to keep the fish alive).

  3. Bream will only be accepted if in a healthy condition upon entry – the official’s ruling is final

  4. Bream must measure 28cm or greater to be eligible.

  5. Bream are to be taken to the nearest Release Station at the earliest convenience.

  6. Upon arrival at the release station, fish are only to be handled by the officials.

  7. Officials will tag and release bream entered into the Catch & Release competition.

  8. Kids are for those aged 16 and under.

  9. Teams are for teams of 2 - 4 people.​​

Fishing Prizes

Prizes will be awarded for the following categories:

  • Heaviest Bream for 1. Men, 2. Women, 3. Kids, 4. Teams

  • Heaviest Other Species for 1. Men, 2. Women, 3. Kids, 4. Teams

 

Plus the following will go into a prize draw:

  • Top 10 heaviest Bream for 1. Adults 2. Kids

  • Top 10 heaviest Other Species for Kids

There will also be secret weight prizes for kids and adults, and the top prize will be a Quintrix boat.​ Other prizes to be confirmed.
